RFF Opening Night: HAKA AND GUITARS plus LEANNA AND DAN

This is the opening night of the Raglan Film Festival screening.

The evening will start at 7pm with a welcome to Film Producer Will Watson.

Then the BBQ will sizzle.

After the feature film screens there will be a Q and A with Will Watson, the Producer for Haka and Guitars.

Check out this gem of a Kiwi film on opening night and get in quick for tickets which includes food cooked by Raglan kaumatua and a drink.

Plus an extra special bonus after an intermission with a screening of Leanna and Dan.

Support the local kaumatua and head down to the Old School for choice kai for sale from 5pm for those not attending the film – $5 for seafood chowder or pumpkin soup and fry bread, $2.50 for delicious Top Cut sausage and bread, $2 for fry bread, butter and golden syrup.

During the Pacific’s most bloody Civil War, the New Zealand army found a way to achieve peace without guns and violence. Through the powerful influence of women and multiculturalism ‘Haka and Guitars’ shows the world there is a way to achieve peace in our time. Fiona Cassidy (NgatiKuri, Te Aupouri, Te Rarawa) , a former Major in the NZ army, returns to Bougainville to reflect on ‘Operation Belisi’, modern histories most successful peacekeeping mission.

Our volunteers open the theatre doors and box office 30 minutes before the start time of each session.

Door sales are available from 30 minutes before the start of each session.

If you haven't reserved and want to check if seats are available phone 825 0023, from 30 minutes before the start of each session.

There are no allocated seats. Arrive early to get the seat that's right for you from our eclectic collection of couches, reception and other chairs.

There is a cafe with juice, Bundaberg drinks, popcorn plus yummy food on sale. For licensed sessions wine and beer is available.

Pay at the door by cash or EFTPOS.

The office is usually open Mondays to Fridays from 10am to 2pm for pre-purchase of tickets.

We prefer that reserves are made using the web reservation system as shown below. Or you can phone 825 0023 and leave a message or email info@raglanartscentre.co.nz

We accept online reserve requests up to 1 pm on the day of screening– provided the session isn’t already full.

Online reserves must be paid for in the time from 30 minutes before the start of a session to 15 minutes before the start.

From 15 minutes before the start they will be resold if the session is full.
