The One Ocean Film Tour is a series of ocean-loving films focused on adventure, the aquatic environment and inspirational stories. The tour was created in 2020 to increase awareness about ocean protection and conservation by sharing films made by people who have dedicated their lives to the ocean and all her glory. The tour is available for ocean businesses, groups and others to book and conduct community screenings worldwide.

The ONE OCEAN FILM TOUR is exempt from classification, but the films suit the entire family and would obtain G/PG ratings.

ONE OCEAN FILM TOUR

The 2023 tour will take you from the big waves of Nazare to the shark-infested oceans of the Indonesian coast, diving with local kids in Australia and foiling across the Cook Strait in New Zealand. Features exclusive One Ocean edits from the award-winning Monster Energy surf film Ground Swell and Australian production Aliquam 3.

ALIQUAM III (32 mins.)

The Aliquam adventure continues! After Aliquam I and Aliquam II, Anthony Gordon continues his project to raise awareness of the young generation on the oceans and the seabed.

The Karioi Quilters have been making high quality, natural fibre, artistic quilts for many years. Primarily a patchwork and quilting group, the members meet to share knowledge and skills and enjoy creating in good company. From 2023, we changed the name to Karioi Quilts and Crafts to open the group up to other crafters. Members can work on their own projects ranging from quilts, sewing projects and you can even bring your knitting, as long as it’s not a messy craft anything goes. New members are always welcome to come along to work on their own projects and learn techniques from a group of very creative craftspeople. Born 1952 in the Eketahuna Maternity Hospital, later to be an old folks’ home (finally a goat paddock). Named ‘Michael’ by his parents, ‘Mum’ & ‘Dad’. Growing up in a small-town way; rugby at the domain, swimming in the baths and the river. At high school Gilbert & Sullivan, at home Barry Crump. Friday night shopping trips to Masterton. Shearing gangs, possum traps, country roads and country pubs. After Massey University, his musical apprenticeship took place busking in K. Road, and Cook Street Market, followed by Folk Clubs and festivals in NZ, Australia and the UK. His first album ‘Time On The Road’ led to a hitch-hiking tour of Highways 1 to 91 with solo shows of homegrown songs. Mike’s recordings have often been played on RNZ National Radio. He compiled ‘When the Pakeha Sings of Home’ for Godwit Press and has made several series of programmes for National Radio on New Zealand music. Further recordings include: ‘From the Edge’ (Folk Record of the Year 1987); ‘One For You’; ‘Songs Of Local Folk’ and ‘From The Tracks’ for broadcast on National Radio and released by Replay Radio on cassette, 1989-1996; ‘Home Is Where The Heart Is’ and ‘Shaky Isles’.
