WORLD PREMIERE TOUR from 19th April: Wilmington, USA; Paris, France; Sao Paulo, Brazil
 Three women ignite flames of curiosity through a voyage following plastic across the North Atlantic on Mara Noka, a 50-year-old wooden catamaran.
Women and the Wind is a project aimed at igniting the flames of curiosity and adventure which lay dormant within so many of us, by deepening our understanding of the synergy between nature and humanity—and by doing so radically. This project is led by a group of women and realized through a voyage across the North Atlantic on Mara Noka, a 50-year-old wooden catamaran.
Motivated by Kiana’s first North Atlantic crossing in 2019, where she witnessed a plastic-littered ocean, Mara Noka and Kiana, joined by filmmaker Alizé Jireh and environmentalist Lærke Heilmann, set off across the North Atlantic again in 2022 to follow plastic pollution on its ride to Europe via the Gulf Stream. Throughout the entirety of the voyage, larger floating debris including fishing nets, buckets, bottles, plastic bags, and nylon ropes were constant companions.
Though the initial intention of the film was to focus mainly on telling this story of plastic, the voyage took on a much more personal tone as the days progressed. The women were then faced with the reality of life at sea aboard a boat, for 30 days, with no space from each other or themselves. Calms and tempests reflected their own inner workings, and an entire moon’s cycle on the ocean brought their femininity to the forefront. They experienced their fragility and their strengths with an intensity that is unmatched, transforming this film into an intimate portrayal of woman and nature.

COMMUNITY SCREENING
Local residents are invited to the exclusive premiere of ‘The Miracle in Raglan’, a short documentary film about the work of the Raglan trauma therapist Dr Robin Youngson and the miraculous results of Havening.
This moving documentary is sponsored by Kiwis for Good, a mental health charity promoting innovative approaches to mental health and wellbeing. The movie features locals who are clients, students and practitioners of Havening Techniques who got together in Raglan to forge a new future for mental health care. This beautifully crafted film captures the Raglan vibe and setting with stories that will move and inspire you. The title song is donated by multi-award-winning artist Taisha Tari. After the Raglan premiere, the film will be launched internationally, once again putting Raglan in the spotlight.
Kiwis for Good have also committed to making a second documentary about Somatic Compassion, a simple method that evolved out of Havening but which anyone can use to address their trauma or life challenges. Somatic Compassion is being developed here in Raglan through a series of community workshops.
The premiere will be screened as the Old School and tickets are limited. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Kiwis for Good. Get your ticket now!

Karioi Quilts & Crafts - second Thursday of every month.
EVERYONE WELCOME
The Karioi Quilters have been making high quality, natural fibre, artistic quilts for many years. Primarily a patchwork and quilting group, the members meet to share knowledge and skills and enjoy creating in good company.
From 2023, we changed the name to Karioi Quilts and Crafts to open the group up to other crafters.
Members can work on their own projects ranging from quilts, sewing projects and you can even bring your knitting, as long as it’s not a messy craft anything goes. New members are always welcome to come along to work on their own projects and learn techniques from a group of very creative craftspeople.

In Yin yoga, the poses are held for a long period of time (typically three to five minutes or longer) to target the connective tissues (such as the ligaments) rather than focusing on the muscles. Yoga flow. Raglan Gym classes are a great place to start from any level. We do not offer any one particular style however we gather our teaching essence from all of the lineages, which our teachers have practiced and studied. The basis of our teaching is on the principles of breath (pranayama), movement (asana) and awareness (meditation). We employ these principles as the basis of our four class styles and we welcome you as a beginner or more advanced yoga practitioner. Yoga promotes not only muscle toning, but also you benefit from increased endurance and flexibility. Good for all levels. Free for Gym members, casual $20. No drop-ins, book online on the Raglan Gym website

 BOB TREVINO LIKES IT is inspired by the true friendship that writer/director Tracie Laymon found with a stranger when looking for her father online.

Bob Trevino works long hours alone at a construction company to support his wife Jeanie’s scrapbooking habit.
