The event may have been postponed for the second year in a row due to Covid, but the Raglan Arts Weekend (RAW) is still offering up art for its fans. This week sees the re-opening 10am to 2pm every day from 3rd to 21st Nov. of the Preview Exhibition at the Old School, 5 Stewart St, Raglan, coupled with the Preview Exhibition launching online for the first time ever.

Government requirements AT LEVEL 3|STEP 2 While visiting the Old School, please maintain 2 metres from people not in your household bubble, wear a mask and use our QR code or sign in when entering. Our gallery assistants will also ensure there is room for everyone to enjoy their visit, keeping you, your whaanau and our community safe.

“It’s a sizable collection of work with two artworks per artist, meaning 84 artworks are displayed,” explains Nicky. “A big chunk of these were sold in the four days the Preview Exhibition was open before lockdown, but there are plenty still up for grabs. We have 13 new artists and the collection covers a really broad range of media – sculpture, painting, photography, metal work, encaustic, print making, illustration, pottery, weaving, textile art, designer jewellery, to name a few.”

Our gallery assistants will also ensure there is room for everyone to enjoy their visit, keeping you, your whaanau and our community safe.

As per usual, there is a very popular 300×300 show where artworks are sold for a fraction of their usual price at $200 each. There is also a main exhibition, suitably titled: ‘And Then We Paused/ Reflections of a Covid World’.

Category: Music / Gigs LIVE & LOCAL at the Old School - November

    November 21, 2021

Who's absolutely hanging out for a night out with some live music???
Now we're back at level 2, this Sunday's Live & Local is ON. Yuss!

7pm, Raglan Old School, koha entry, doors open 6.30. Snacks and drinks available.
Level 2 protocols apply - please sign in, masks are encouraged, be seated 1m from people you don't know and use 1m distancing on stairs and in entranceways.

But otherwise - come and hear some good local performers and catch up with people you know!

Don't miss Live & Local's stunning local line-up. Parabola West's sound is a lush mix of piano, Celtic folk, and electronica with a dash of fantasy.

Inspired by the local music scene, Sasha Kirkwood began writing original music around 12 years old, and hasn't stopped since.

Added to this, mix are the tunes of lefthanded guitarist Marten Ten Broek.
