Karioi Quilts & Crafts - second Thursday of every month.
The Karioi Quilters have been making high quality, natural fibre, artistic quilts for many years. Primarily a patchwork and quilting group, the members meet to share knowledge and skills and enjoy creating in good company.
From 2023, we changed the name to Karioi Quilts and Crafts to open the group up to other crafters.
Members can work on their own projects ranging from quilts, sewing projects and you can even bring your knitting, as long as it’s not a messy craft anything goes. New members are always welcome to come along to work on their own projects and learn techniques from a group of very creative craftspeople.
Group co-ordinator is Sue Webber 021 489944
Meetings are held at the Raglan Old School Arts Centre from 10am to 1pm (sometimes 3pm if the room is available) on the second Thursday of every month. 10 sessions per year from February to December. Subscription is $30 per year which goes towards room hire.

Live & Local is back after a summer break. Kicking off the year we have singer-songwriter Joe Wilson, Penni Feather with Nicky Keys, and The Blukes.
Joe Wilson is a singer-songwriter who spent five years busking across New Zealand, Australia and the UK and has now been in Raglan for nine years. His relatable lyrics and heartfelt lyrics are embedded within sweet melodies that give a timeless and nostalgic feel to the songs.
Singer Penni Feather and keyboardist extraordinaire Nicky Keys will showcase more of their recent collaboration. Having taken a few songs out for a ‘training run’ at the last Live & Local in December, they’re back to road-test more of the material for their forthcoming cabaret show.
The Blukes - Six guys got together, each with a song of his choice. With their ages ranging from 40 to 75, the songs cover a wide variety of genres and decades. You will be surprised at what these blokes can play on ukes!
If you’re interested in performing at one of these shows, contact penni@raglanartscentre.co.nz
Live & Local presented by Raglan Old School Arts Centre is made possible with the support of Waikato District Creative Communities, Raglan Light & Sound and Mark Frost (Bayleys Real Estate)

Monty Bevins, rescheduled from Dec to Sat Feb 10
On Saturday the 10th of February, Monty will bring his original songs to Eva’s room, the beautiful downstairs music/theatre room at the Raglan Old School Arts Centre. Your chance to hear each note, most lyrics, and the personal stories behind them.
Monty has built a loyal following throughout his homeland since he started touring full noise in 2012, and is known as a touching, spirited performer, whose soul-folk songs ask the big questions while telling the small stories. With a warm rich voice and articulate guitar grooves, he digs out and distills themes of tenderness, personal revolution and adventure...
Sat Feb 10, doors 7pm, show 7.30. Tickets $20 from Undertheradar or $25 on the door.
$20 presales from:
