    Workshop: Connection through singing together

Category: Workshops Workshop: Connection through singing together

    August 15, 2021

Come join your voice with many others to create a harmonious tapestry of beautiful sounds. There is a special magic that happens when people join their voices together, a depth of connection and a release of self into the beautiful tapestry of the whole. You don’t have to be a confident singer to come and sing along; singing is everyone’s birthright, regardless of musical experience, age, or ability. The unique quality of your voice will be a shining thread in this rich tapestry we will make together.
We will come together in a fun filled and spirit filled circle and I will lead you in experimenting with the vibrations of the voice especially when resonating with others, with plenty of harmony, fun, collective improvisation, and freedom of expression. I will also be teaching some two-and-three-part a Cappella folk songs from around the world.
I have led many singing groups over the years including the Mauao Crazy Choir in Mount Maunganui. The choir performed
regularly at festivals, environmental events, open mic nights, and on stages around the Bay of Plenty. I have also led vocal workshops at many festivals, most recently at Resolution 2020, Spirit Fest 2021, and Earthbeat 2021. Some of you might also remember me from Solrise 2020.
I love to sing and play music of all kinds and my goal is to make music fun for everyone involved. I have been teaching music for many years both in learning institutions such as Toi Ohomai in Tauranga and also in my own private music studio. I also perform solo and with other musicians and have released music under the name EmRiver.
I love to pass on my passion for music and enjoy bringing
out each person’s unique musical sound.
Come and experience the magic of singing together. I’m looking forward to singing with you!

    $15 CASH on the door
