Karioi Quilters - second Thursday of every month.
The Karioi Quilters have been making high quality, natural fibre, artistic quilts for many years. A patchwork and quilting group, the members meet to share knowledge and skills and enjoy creating in good company.
Members work on their own projects ranging from cot to queen-sized quilts. Many long enjoyable hours are spent working on intricate artistic fabric creations. A focus on pure natural fibres, especially cottons, results in high quality handworks which often become treasured family items. Group co-ordinator is Judy Levy.
New members are always welcome to come along to these casual meetings to work on their own projects and learn quilting techniques from a group of very creative craftspeople.
Meetings are held at the Raglan Old School Arts Centre from 10am to 1pm on the second Thursday of every month. So join them for a coffee and bring your lunch. Donation of $2 to help with the rent.

Local foodie and bestselling author Emma Galloway (Te Ä€tihaunui a PÄpÄrangi, NgÄti Raukawa ki te Tonga) releases her new book Every Day at the Old School on Friday 9 April, from 7pm to 8.30pm.
Over years working as a chef and as a mother of two, Emma has designed tips and tricks to make cooking simpler through planning ahead and using ingredients that are easy to swap out. “Dotted throughout Every Day, you’ll find my ‘anything’ recipes, with examples of how you can change things up to suit your tastes or what you might have on hand at different times of the year. My main goal is to create meals that are easy and totally do-able, every day of the week. I want people to feel confident in the kitchen and know that, by cooking at home, with simple real-food ingredients, they’re making one of the most powerful decisions we can make as humans: the decision of what goes into our bodies.â€
Enjoy a range of beverages from the licensed bar as you sample delicious, nourishing and simple-to-make recipes from Emma's third book from her home kitchen.
The evening will include a Q&A with Emma herself and plenty of opportunity to mingle and chat. There will be books for sale on the night, with the opportunity to have them signed.
