A one-day rollercoaster introduction to writing for the screen. The workshop is a fun, fast-paced tour through the writing toolbox of an acclaimed screenwriter, using short films, music videos and excerpts from great movies to explore the fundamentals of storytelling for the screen. The workshop is suitable for new screenwriters, for artists coming to screenwriting from other disciplines and for experienced writers in search of a boot-camp refresher.

The true underdog story of how Dave Fishwick, a working class man and self-made millionaire, fought to set up a community bank so that he could help the local businesses of Burnley not only survive, but thrive. In his bid to help his beloved community, he has to take on the elitist financial institutions of London and fight to receive the first, new banking license to be issued in over 150 years.Jen Shieff, Rotorua Post. 'Bank of Dave' tells the story of how a working class Burnley man and self-made millionaire fought to set up a community bank. Dave Fishwick (Rory Kinnear) sells vans in Burnley, Lancashire. Once the world's most productive and profitable mill town, Burnley is now one of the most deprived and neglected towns in the UK. Dave, however, through a combination of hustle and hard work, has done well for himself -- so well that in the wake of the last financial crisis he started lending money at reduced rates to his customers and local businesses. When some of those businesses start making money they ask Dave to reinvest it for them. This gives Dave an idea. Why not set up a tiny local bank that uses local money to fund local enterprise? He will call it: The Bank of Dave. The elite, London based financial authorities however, haven't granted a new bank license for over 150 years and they're not keen to grant one to a van salesmen from Burnley. WINTER WILSON (UK)
Winter Wilson are one of the hardest-working duos on the European folk scene. Pre-pandemic, they had toured Australia, NZ and Canada. In 2018, they toured the UK with folk-rock icons Fairport Convention.
Dave Wilson is recognised as one of the UK’s best contemporary folk songwriters. His songs are sung in folk clubs the world over and covered by such greats as Vin Garbutt. He’s also a fine guitarist, banjo player and singer. Kip Winter “simply has a voice to die for” (Maverick Magazine). She is equally at home singing contemporary folk, traditional Gaelic songs and blues and also plays piano accordion, flute and guitar.
Together, the couple have produced ten albums, blending truly stunning harmonies with subtle, skilful musicianship.
SADIE & JAY (AUS/NZ)
Jay's intricate finger style guitar and Sadie's melodic double bass create a vivid soundscape for their passionate song-writing. From lively rag-time blues and comical ditties to compelling epic tales and ballads, this pairing will take you on a rousing musical adventure.
Sadie & Jay have toured across Australia, New Zealand and the UK. Their distinctive music has received outstanding reviews and multiple awards over three original albums.

In an unlikely friendship TJ meets a curious young Syrian Yara [Ebla Mari] with her camera. Can they find a way for the two communities to understand each other? So unfolds a deeply moving drama about their fragilities and hopes.
