Jen Shieff, Rotorua Post. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED "It's a David-and-Goliath story, in which snooty Oxford-educated bankers get their comeuppance."
'Bank of Dave' tells the story of how a working class Burnley man and self-made millionaire fought to set up a community bank. Dave Fishwick (Rory Kinnear) sells vans in Burnley, Lancashire. Once the world's most productive and profitable mill town, Burnley is now one of the most deprived and neglected towns in the UK. Dave, however, through a combination of hustle and hard work, has done well for himself -- so well that in the wake of the last financial crisis he started lending money at reduced rates to his customers and local businesses. When some of those businesses start making money they ask Dave to reinvest it for them. This gives Dave an idea. Why not set up a tiny local bank that uses local money to fund local enterprise? He will call it: The Bank of Dave. The elite, London based financial authorities however, haven't granted a new bank license for over 150 years and they're not keen to grant one to a van salesmen from Burnley. Dave must enlist the help of London lawyer, Hugh (Joel Fry), junior doctor Alexandra (Phoebe Dynevor) and some local rock legends (Def Leppard) to help fight the good cause.
DIRECTED BY Chris Foggin
CAST Joel Fry, Phoebe Dynevor, Rory Kinnear, Hugh Bonneville, Paul Kaye, Jo Hartley, Cathy Tyson, Florence Hall, Drew Cain, Grant Crookes

In his bid to help his beloved community, he has to take on the elitist financial institutions of London and fight to receive the first, new banking license to be issued in over 100 years.

HOW TO HAVE SEX is a vibrant and authentic depiction of the agonies, ecstasies and ride-or-die glory of young female friendship, from rising British filmmaker Molly Manning Walker.
Three British teenage girls go on a rites-of-passage holiday, drinking, clubbing and hooking up in what should be the best summer of their lives. As they dance their way across the sun-drenched streets of Malia, they find themselves navigating the complexities of sex, consent and self-discovery.
Captured with luminous visuals and a pitch-perfect soundtrack, Manning Walker’s directorial debut paints a painfully familiar portrait of young adulthood, and how first sexual experiences should – or shouldn’t – play out.
Making her debut feature with a vibrant, compassionate look at sex, friendship and the sweet smell of a boozy sunburned summer holiday, director and cinematographer Molly Manning Walker (Scrapper, Good Thanks, You?) paints an exhilarating, moving, and painfully familiar portrait of young adulthood.

Dave Wilson is recognised as one of the UK’s best contemporary folk songwriters. His songs are sung in folk clubs the world over and covered by such greats as Vin Garbutt. He’s also a fine guitarist, banjo player and singer. Kip Winter “simply has a voice to die for” (Maverick Magazine). Together, the couple have produced ten albums, blending truly stunning harmonies with subtle, skilful musicianship.

TJ Ballantyne (Dave Turner) the landlord hangs on to The Old Oak by his fingertips.
His predicament is endangered even more when the pub becomes contested territory after the arrival of Syrian refugees who are placed in the village without any notice. So unfolds a deeply moving drama about their fragilities and hopes.
