New Zealand based duo from Hamilton, Looking for Alaska, have been making music together for the last 3 years establishing themselves as both a hardworking covers act and passionate songwriters. Influenced by the likes of The Civil Wars and The Decemberists, the pair have been quickly establishing a sound that is uniquely them.

Having delighted audiences opening for bands such as Fly My Pretties and The Herbs, the duo are now in the midst of recording their debut album set for release in October 2016 with new band members Stephen Daniell (Bass), Regan McKinnon (Guitar) and Jeremy Hantler (Drums).

The Karioi Quilters have been making high quality, natural fibre, artistic quilts for many years. Primarily a patchwork and quilting group, the members meet to share knowledge and skills and enjoy creating in good company. From 2023, we changed the name to Karioi Quilts and Crafts to open the group up to other crafters. Members can work on their own projects ranging from quilts, sewing projects and you can even bring your knitting, as long as it’s not a messy craft anything goes. New members are always welcome to come along to work on their own projects and learn techniques from a group of very creative craftspeople.
