As per Government requirements, all events at the Old School require sign-in, a vaccine pass and a mask. Our aim is to keep most events happening at the Old School. To enable this with active covid cases in town, we have regretfully decided to cancel the March Creative Market.

We are now operating in the RED Phase 2/ 3 setting with a business continuity plan to minimise the impact of the pandemic on Arts Centre activities. Exhibition openings, movies and concerts will have number limits; Some staff will work from home;

Most sessions are licensed with wine, cider and beer available. Pay at the door by cash or EFTPOS. The office is open Mondays to Fridays from 10am to 2pm for pre-purchase of tickets or to pay for reserves. We accept online reserve requests up to about 1 pm on the day of screening provided the session isn't already full. Online reserves are available for payment from 30 minutes before the start of a session to 15 minutes before the start. From 15 minutes before the start they will be resold if the session is full. The Karioi Quilters have been making high quality, natural fibre, artistic quilts for many years. Primarily a patchwork and quilting group, the members meet to share knowledge and skills and enjoy creating in good company. From 2023, we changed the name to Karioi Quilts and Crafts to open the group up to other crafters. Members can work on their own projects ranging from quilts, sewing projects and you can even bring your knitting, as long as it’s not a messy craft anything goes. New members are always welcome to come along to work on their own projects and learn techniques from a group of very creative craftspeople.
