Apr 9: Book Launch: Emma’s Every Day cooking

Local foodie and bestselling author Emma Galloway (Te Ātihaunui a Pāpārangi, Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga) releases her new book Every Day at the Old School, 5 Stewart St., Raglan on Friday 9 April, from 7pm to 8.30pm.

Over years working as a chef and as a mother of two, Emma has designed tips and tricks to make cooking simpler through planning ahead and using ingredients that are easy to swap out. “Dotted throughout Every Day, you’ll find my ‘anything’ recipes, with examples of how you can change things up to suit your tastes or what you might have on hand at different times of the year. My main goal is to create meals that are easy and totally do-able, every day of the week. I want people to feel confident in the kitchen and know that, by cooking at home, with simple real-food ingredients, they’re making one of the most powerful decisions we can make as humans: the decision of what goes into our bodies.”

Emma is a former chef, photographer, author of My Darling Lemon Thyme and A Year in My Real Food Kitchen and creator of the award-winning food blog My Darling Lemon Thyme.

Her work has appeared on Oprah.com, Food52 and in The Guardian, among others. She was the recipient of the Tui Flower Award for Best Recipe Writing at the 2019 NZ Food Media Awards. She writes and takes photographs for a regular column in Cuisine magazine and lives in Raglan.

Enjoy a range of beverages from the licensed bar as you sample delicious, nourishing and simple-to-make recipes from Emma’s third book from her home kitchen.

The evening will include a Q&A with Emma herself and plenty of opportunity to mingle and chat. There will be books for sale on the night, with the opportunity to have them signed.
