Dot says that from an early age she has loved drawing and painting.
At primary school I entered work at the annual Winter Show, and in my teens I was painting scenes, some of which I still have.
While teaching in Australia I painted backdrops for school plays and made banners, one being the mythical ‘bunyip’ which I had to create.
I won a prize for the best display of screen-printed articles, creating patterns for skirts, tablecloths, shirts and the like. This also included a set of t-shirts for a local softball team.
Through my teaching I enjoyed passing on my knowledge to primary school pupils, and organising exhibitions of their art.
I have sold paintings through local galleries, have designed a book cover, and have done some signwriting.
When I retired from school teaching, I joined the Raglan Art Group and experimented with different styles and media, thus my eclectic mix of paintings.
