Poetry is the food of the soul

Calling all poets, songwriters, bards, scribblers, word doodlers, wordsmiths and spoken word artists. Dust off your vocal chords and join INkSPILLERS, Raglan Writers Collective for two nights of spoken word to celebrate National Poetry Day.

Head to the Old School for the inaugural Youth Slam and Poetry event on Thursday 22 August, 7-9pm.
Entry is by koha and everyone aged 18 and under is welcome to take part.

Each participant will have 3-4 minutes of performance time.

And if that’s not enough spoken word for you, join the bards at the Raglan Club on Friday 23 August from 7-10pm (the official NZ
Poetry Day).

INkSPILLERS are calling all writers, performers, poets, singers, story tellers, minstrels, chanters, word crafting badasses, slammers to the OPEN MIC NIGHT at the club. Share your 3-4 minute short and sweet poem, story, song.

Youth are also invited to attend the open mic night at the Raglan
Club and present their poetry, flash fiction (less than 300 words)
or song.
